thefrog AI Viewer(이하 "앱")는 Adobe Illustrator(.ai), PDF, SVG, 일반 이미지 파일(JPG/PNG/WEBP/GIF/BMP/HEIC/AVIF)과 EPS 파일(파일 안에 미리보기 이미지가 들어 있는 경우 그 미리보기 이미지)을 기기에서 직접 열람하는 뷰어 앱이다. 아래 내용은 실제 코드를 검토해 확인된 사실만 기재했으며, 확인되지 않은 내용은 추측해 채우지 않았다.

1. 이 앱이 하지 않는 것 (요약)

• 이 앱은 회원가입/로그인/사용자 계정 기능이 없다.
• 이 앱은 사용자가 여는 파일(AI/PDF/SVG/이미지)의 내용이나 파일명을 회사가 운영하는 서버로 자동 전송·업로드하지 않는다. 모든 파일 처리(디코딩, 렌더링, PNG 변환, PDF로 저장)는 기기 안에서만 이뤄진다. 단, 사용자가 직접 "원본 파일 공유"나 "현재 페이지 이미지 공유"를 실행하면 그 순간 사용자가 직접 고르는 다른 앱으로 파일(또는 그 자리에서 만든 PNG 사본)이 전달된다 — 이는 회사가 자동으로 하는 전송이 아니라 매번 사용자가 직접 실행해야 하는 행동이며, 자세한 내용은 2항에 별도로 설명한다.

앱이 정상 동작을 위해 접근하는 정보는 모두 사용자 기기 안에서만 처리되며, 회사가 운영하는 서버로 자동 전송되지 않는다. 다만 아래 "공유 기능"과 "의견 보내기" 항목은 예외다 — 사용자가 직접 실행해야만, 그 순간 사용자가 고르는 다른 앱(의견 보내기는 기기의 메일 앱)으로 전달된다.

• 사용자가 선택한 파일: 사용자가 Android의 시스템 파일 선택기로 직접 선택하거나, 다른 앱에서 "다른 앱으로 열기"로 이 앱에 넘긴 파일만 열람한다. 이 앱은 기기 저장소를 임의로 스캔하거나 사용자가 선택하지 않은 파일에 접근하지 않으며, 광범위한 저장소 권한을 요청하지도 않는다.

3. 인앱 구매(Google Play 결제)

• 신용카드 등 결제 수단 정보는 Google Play가 직접 수집·처리하며, 이 앱은 그 정보에 전혀 접근하지 않는다.
• 이 앱은 구매 상태를 Google Play 결제 라이브러리를 통해 기기에서 확인하며, 이 정보를 회사 서버로 보내지 않는다(앱 자체 서버가 존재하지 않는다). 다만 인터넷에 연결되지 않았거나 Google Play 확인이 잠시 되지 않을 때도 구매한 기능을 쓸 수 있도록, Google Play가 구매를 확인한 사실(상품 ID, 마지막으로 확인된 시각, 시계 조작을 막기 위한 마지막 사용 시각과 기록 무효화 확인용 임의 값)을 기기 내부에 저장한다. 이 기록은 마지막 확인 뒤 7일 동안만 구매 확인에 쓰인다. 구매 토큰·주문 번호·결제 수단·계정 정보는 저장하지 않는다. 이 기록은 서버로 전송되지 않고 Android 백업 대상도 아니며, Google Play 확인에서 구매가 없는 것으로 나오면(환불·취소 포함) 곧바로 지우거나 무효로 표시하고, 앱을 삭제하면 함께 지워진다.

4. 정보 보관 및 삭제

• 앱 삭제: 앱을 기기에서 삭제하면 Android 운영체제가 기기에 저장된 앱 데이터를 자동으로 삭제한다. 다만 Android 백업이 켜져 있으면 2항에 적은 백업 데이터는 사용자의 Google 계정 백업에 남아 재설치 시 복원될 수 있다.
• 앱 안에서 직접 삭제: "최근" 목록의 개별 항목은 길게 눌러 언제든 삭제할 수 있다.
• 기기 설정을 통한 삭제: Android 설정의 "앱 정보 > 저장공간 > 데이터 삭제/캐시 삭제"로도 수동으로 지울 수 있다.
• 이 앱은 사용자 데이터를 회사가 운영하는 서버로 자동 전송하거나 보관하지 않으므로, 앱 데이터에 대한 별도의 서버 측 삭제 요청 절차는 존재하지 않는다.

5. 광고, 분석, 제3자 SDK

회사는 광고 SDK, 분석 SDK, 크래시 리포팅 SDK를 앱에 넣지 않았다. 앱이 포함하는 외부 라이브러리는 Jetpack Compose/AndroidX(표준 UI/아키텍처·기기 내 설정 저장), Kotlin 코루틴, Google Play 결제 라이브러리(결제 처리 — Google 서비스로 결제 관련 진단 정보를 보낼 수 있음, 1항·3항 참고), Google Play 인앱 리뷰 라이브러리(별점 요청 창 표시), Google Play 인앱 업데이트 라이브러리(새 버전 확인과 업데이트 안내), SVG 렌더링 라이브러리(기기 내 렌더링 전용, 네트워크 접근 없음)다. 인앱 리뷰·인앱 업데이트 라이브러리는 기기의 Google Play 앱을 통해 동작하며 권한을 추가하지 않는다.

6. 자녀 대상 여부

이 앱은 디자인/문서 파일을 다루는 생산성 도구로, 아동을 특정 대상으로 기획되지 않았다.

thefrog AI Viewer (the "App") is a viewer app that opens Adobe Illustrator (.ai), PDF, SVG, and common image files (JPG/PNG/WEBP/GIF/BMP/HEIC/AVIF), plus EPS files (when they contain an embedded preview image), directly on the device. Everything below reflects behavior confirmed by reviewing the actual source code; nothing here is speculative.

1. What this App does not do (summary)

• The App has no account creation, sign-in, or user account system of any kind.
• The App never automatically transmits or uploads the content or file names of files you open to any server operated by the Company. All file processing happens entirely on the device. The one exception is that if you explicitly choose "Share original file" or "Share current page image," the file is handed to whichever app you pick at that moment.
• PDF layers: when you show/hide layers, preview a layer color change, or save one layer as PNG (Plus) in a file with PDF layers, the App makes a temporary copy of the file in its private cache folder and draws it with the chosen layer state. The original file is not modified, the copy is never sent off the device, and it is deleted when you open another file, leave the viewer, or restart the App.
• "AI" does not refer to artificial intelligence processing. It refers to the Adobe Illustrator file extension (.ai). The App has no feature that analyzes, processes, or transmits user files using AI/ML, and contains no code that calls any external AI/LLM API.
• The App displays no advertising and includes no advertising SDK.
• The Company has not added any analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDK that tracks user behavior.
• The App never requests sensitive permissions such as location, contacts, camera, or microphone.
• The App does not send your files off the device or connect to the internet itself, and uses no ads or analytics SDKs. Purchases, update checks, and rating requests go through Google Play. The Google Play Billing library adds the INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, and com.android.vending.BILLING permissions and may send purchase-related diagnostic data to Google; the Company does not receive that data (see Section 3). Viewing files works without an internet connection.

2. Information the App accesses or processes on-device

• Files you choose: only files picked via the system file picker or handed over via "Open with."
• Folder access permission: standard Android access grants for folders you approve, stored on-device only.
• Recently opened files list: file name, type, size, and last-opened time, stored on-device only.
• AI file viewing identifier: a single SHA-256 hash per AI file to enforce the 5-file free limit; never the file name or full content.
• Free markup count: a single number counting how many times a free user has used markup (drawing on the artwork); what was drawn on which file is not stored.
• Copying the markup result image (only when you run it): you can copy the markup result image to the clipboard. The App keeps the copy only in a temporary cache on the device and does not send it anywhere (you choose the app you paste into). The temporary file is cleaned up automatically when the App restarts or at a later copy or share.
• Update prompt record: when you dismiss the new-version notice, only the dismissed version number and time are stored so the same notice is not shown again for a day. Checking for and downloading updates is handled by Google Play.
• Rating request record: to show Google Play's rating request at most twice and at least 90 days apart, only the file-view count, the number of requests, the time of the last request, and whether "Rate App" in the menu has been used are stored on the device. Ratings and reviews are handled by Google Play; the App does not receive them.
• Rating request diagnostic counts: to see where rating requests stop, the App stores only numbers on the device: how many times each rating moment was reached (file opened, markup saved, export saved, layer color change applied, right after purchase), how many requests were started, how many were skipped for each reason, and how each Google Play rating flow ended. No file names, contents, or locations, no device identifiers, and no dates or times are stored. These counts are never sent off the device automatically and are not part of Android backup; they are pre-filled as a one-line summary in the email body only when you use "Send Feedback" yourself (see below).
• App settings and tip-shown record: only the app language choice (Android 12 and below), markup tool settings (pen color, width, etc.), and whether the shape and text usage tips have already been shown are stored on the device. They contain no file content or personal identifiers, are not sent to any server, and are not part of Android backup. On Android 13 and above, the app language is managed by Android system settings.
• Thumbnails: small preview images cached in the app's private folder.
• Temporary local copies for some externally shared files (e.g. from KakaoTalk), kept in private app storage only.
• Information passed to another app only when you use the Share feature: triggered only by your explicit tap, sent only to the app you choose.
• Send Feedback (only when you run it): tapping "Send Feedback" in the menu, or the contact address in "About," opens your email app with the recipient (support@thefrog.co.kr), a subject, and a body pre-filled with only the app version, the Android version, and a one-line summary of the rating request diagnostic counts above (e.g. "Review prompt stats: RV a:FO12 k:NG10 f:L1"). No file names, paths, file contents, or device identifiers are included, and the summary line is left out if the counts cannot be read. You can review, edit, or delete the pre-filled text in your email app, and the email is sent only if you send it yourself — the App never sends it automatically. If no email app is available, the address is shown so you can copy it.
• Save as PDF (Plus feature, only when you run it): when you tap "Save as PDF" and choose a location and file name in the Android system save screen, the App creates a PDF of the file you're viewing on the device and saves it there as a new file. A temporary file is created in the app's private cache during conversion and deleted afterward. The PDF is never sent to the Company, and the App does not overwrite existing files.
• Android backup: if Android's built-in backup (Google account backup or device-to-device transfer) is enabled, only the "AI file viewing identifier" hashes, the free markup count, and the rating request record are included. The first two keep the free AI file count and the free markup count from resetting after reinstalling; the last prevents unnecessary repeat rating requests. On restore, the App merges the restored records with those already on the device so that counts already used are not reduced. This backup is handled by Android and Google; the Company does not receive it or access it on any Company server. The recent files list, folder access grants, thumbnails, temporary copies, the update prompt record, the rating request diagnostic counts, and the purchase confirmation record (Section 3) are not backed up.

3. In-app purchases (Google Play Billing)

• Payment information is collected and processed directly by Google Play; the App never accesses it.
• The App checks purchase status on the device through the Google Play Billing library and never sends it to the Company (the App has no backend server). So that features you bought keep working while you are offline or Google Play cannot be reached for a while, the App stores on the device a record that Google Play confirmed your purchase: the product ID, the time of the last confirmation, and the time the record was last used (to guard against clock changes), plus a random value used to invalidate the record. The record is relied on for at most 7 days after the last confirmation. It does not include purchase tokens, order numbers, payment details, or account information, is never sent off the device, and is not part of Android backup. It is deleted or marked invalid as soon as Google Play reports that you no longer own the purchase (including refunds and cancellations), and it is removed when you uninstall the App.
• "Plus" (a one-time purchase) provides unlimited AI file viewing and the "Save as PDF" feature.
• Purchase-related personal data handling, including any purchase-related diagnostic data the Google Play Billing library may send to Google, is governed by Google's privacy policy. The Company does not receive that diagnostic data.

4. Data retention and deletion

• Uninstalling the App deletes its locally stored data from the device. If Android backup is enabled, the backup data described in Section 2 may remain in your Google account backup and may be restored after reinstalling.
• In-app deletion: individual "Recent" entries can be deleted via long-press.
• Via device settings: Settings → App info → Storage → Clear data/Clear cache.
• The App has no server and does not automatically send or keep user data on any Company server, so there is no separate Company-side deletion process for app data.
• Feedback emails: emails you send yourself through "Send Feedback" (your email address, what you wrote, and any app version, Android version, or rating request diagnostic summary you left in the body) arrive in the Company's support mailbox (support@thefrog.co.kr) and are used only to respond to you and improve the App. We keep them only as long as needed to handle your inquiry and then delete them; if you ask us to delete them by writing to the same address, we will do so right away.

5. Advertising, analytics, and third-party SDKs

The Company has not added any advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDK. Included libraries: Jetpack Compose/AndroidX (standard UI/architecture and on-device settings storage), Kotlin coroutines, the Google Play Billing library (processes purchases; may send purchase-related diagnostic data to Google, see Sections 1 and 3), the Google Play In-App Review library (shows the rating request), the Google Play In-App Updates library (checks for new versions and shows the update prompt), and an on-device SVG rendering library with no network access. The In-App Review and In-App Updates libraries work through the Google Play app on the device and add no permissions.

6. Not directed at children

The App is a productivity tool for viewing design/document files and is not designed to specifically target children.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the effective date will be updated and the policy republished. (Changed 2026-10-04: added Save as PDF, EPS preview, and Android backup scope.
